Hells Bells can be offered as a 3 hour activity that can be delivered for fun, or used as part of a team building and people development programme. It is a fabulous non-competitive team building game for groups of up to 200.

Hells Bells Image There is one solution that the whole team is working towards. A wide range of different skills and disciplines are called upon including logic, music, word-craft, mathematics, lateral thought, organisational & constructional skills, general knowledge, research ability, genealogy, spatial awareness, mechanics and narration.

Nearly every challenge has a part to play in obtaining the final, overall solution. No team can achieve any significant result if they work in isolation. For every challenge within the game, there is invariably more than one route to the solution, drawing on an alternative discipline.

The ending is spectacular and immensely satisfying for the participants, resulting in a genuine (and well-earned) sense of achievement!

Game's Structure; There are two different aspects to the game.

  • Physical Construction - There are 12 plywood brightly coloured 'mechanical' sculptures that are initially in their component parts. Teams are allocated a number of sculptures to construct from 'Haynes Manual' style drawings and other associated information. Other construction tasks are added for larger groups.

  • Logical Deduction - There are information packs/books that contain a web of clues and riddles. Their solutions lead the teams not only to the order and layout of the sculptures in their final assembly, but also to the answer to the game's quest. "At what hour, on what day, did Sir Richard the Very Brave rescue his fiancée, the lovely Lady Claire de Lune, from the clutches of the evil Duc de Coq Noir?"
After triggering all the sculptures, a costumed Duc de Coq Noir pulls the cord of a 'gunge tank' under which sits Sir Richard the Very Brave and his fiancé. If the team were successful in their quest, the tank releases the dowry (foiled chocolate). If the team were unsuccessful, the tank releases jelly! This provides a light-hearted finish amidst specially commissioned trumpeted fanfares.
